Most nationalities can enter Argentina for up to 90 days without a visa. Students will usually enter Argentina as tourists and then switch over to the student visa after arrival in Argentina. Upon arrival in Argentina, students should:

  • Apply for a local police record in Argentina
  • Make an appointment to go to Immigration
  • Apply for a student visa during the first 30 days

Applications and documents should be submitted in person on the date of the visa interview at Immigration. It is possible to apply for an Argentinian student visa from your home country. Do so at an Argentinian consulate at least 30 days before your arrival in the country. A standard Argentinian student visa lasts for six months. Some students may qualify for a visa valid for up to one year.
