Program Description
MA in English (Research or Coursework)
Students accepted for this course are required to research, write and present a full dissertation (approx 120 pages), under the guidance of a supervisor. The Department is able to supervise topics in most areas under the general ambit of English studies, including South African literary Studies and Post Colonialism; Text Editing; Medieval, Renaissance and Romantic Studies; and Contemporary Fiction.
Admission requirements
Admission to the Master’s Degree must be approved by the Chairperson of the Department.

Registration and Start Dates
Registration starts in January and lectures in February for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate course work programmes.
All research programmes for Masters and PhD can register throughout the year.
End Date: Academic starts in January and ends in December. Programme deadline is determined by the duration of the programme.
