Introduction
The Master of Arts in Teaching for Social Justice (MAT-SJ) collaborates between Marlboro College and Spark Teacher Education Institute. The program focuses on understanding and integrating social justice content and pedagogy that meets all learners' needs. A full year school placement prepares our students practically and academically for today’s K-12 environment's dynamic relationships. Licensed teachers are welcome to apply.
This program produces teachers and leaders in education who engage in restructuring contemporary systems. Participants in the program include educators, activists, paraprofessionals, and more; in common, they all share a love of working with children and a commitment to creating a better world. It provides experiential and theoretical preparation for transformative work in all aspects of education. Graduates go on to education positions throughout the world equipped for the challenges of teaching and their role as leaders and innovators.
