Program description
General objective
Train teachers in the teaching and learning of History who are capable of responding to current educational problems based on teaching intervention.
Specific objectives
That the student:
- Know and apply the approaches of social, cultural and regional history, particularly the trends of environmental history and the history of the present time.
- Identify the differences between general didactics and history didactics.
- Learn about the contributions offered by recent learning theories for educational intervention.
- Acquire skills in the use of various didactic strategies for teaching History.
- Design and organize the development of learning situations.
- Propose evaluation mechanisms for teaching and learning processes with a formative approach.
- Plan the teaching and learning processes of History taking into account the approach of constructivism.

Graduation Profile
Knowledge:
- a) The graduate will update their knowledge on the Universal History of Mexico and Sonora, taking into consideration the most recent historiographical perspectives.
- b) It will reinforce their knowledge about the theories of learning and the didactics of History.
- c) Will handle a critical perspective on the concepts of time and space in History, the links of past and present and the transformation of landscapes.
- d) Will have theoretical and methodological instruments to investigate the problems inherent in the teaching of History.
Skills:
- a) Will assume the teaching of History from a critical perspective, based on updated didactic and historiographical positions.
- b) Will design pertinent and appropriate didactic strategies to generate meaningful learning environments in the classroom.
- c) Expand knowledge about the problems present in the teaching-learning process of History.
Attitudes and Values:
- a) It will have a very clear relevance of History in the comprehensive training of students at different educational levels, particularly at the upper secondary level, a relevance that has been recorded historically in the various educational policies in Mexico.
- b) Associate the teaching of History with its commitment to the current social reality and the orientations of historical change.
- c) It will responsibly assume its commitment to promote innovation in educational practice through the investigation of emerging problems.
