This programme stems from the need to recognize the multidisciplinary nature of social exclusion. It takes seriously the need to provide analytical tools for critically reflecting on our social and cultural futures from a larger perspective based in the humanities, and anchored in subjects such as History, Ethics, Philosophy, The study of Religion, Gender Studies, Theology and Minority studies. The programme taps into a set of topical global issues and brings to the surface relevant factors and dimensions that underlie the process of social exclusion; values, ideas, beliefs, trends, ideologies, practices in combination with the individual and social agency, capabilities and power. The skillset provided by this programme is useful both for students seeking a career in a range of organisations and for those who are aiming for a career in research. -
