UK-China Master of Finance

Peking University HSBC Business School, one of the most promising business schools in China, is proud of its accomplishments in the area of graduate education. PHBS UK-China Master of Finance is a two year, full-time and cross-border, programme in which students spend the first year at our UK campus, and the second year at our Shenzhen Campus, in China. The programme is a great opportunity for students to, not only have a specialist training and cross-disciplinary coursework, but also a multi-country experience and in-depth cross-cultural exposure.

It is a two-year programme, culminating in a final thesis. The academic year consists of two semesters, with two modules each. Each module runs for nine weeks. The faculty members have earned their PhD degrees from top-ranked universities over the world, and all courses are instructed exclusively in English.

Curriculum

This programme provides specialised training in finance, modern financial theories, application and methodologies. Finance students also have the comfort of knowing that PHBS Master of Finance courses is recognised by the CFA Institute University Affiliation Programme for preparing students for the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) exams. The curriculum is very quantitative-based and requires students to have a very high level of mathematical skills.

Courses include: Financial Markets, Financial Economics, Applied Econometrics, Financial Markets and Investments in China, General and Business Chinese, as well as elective courses

Programme Objectives

It aims to develop in students a comprehensive understanding of financial performance and management. The Finance programme prepares students for a variety of careers, such as chief financial officers, risk management specialists, corporate fund managers and more. This programme also enables the students to pursue PhD degrees or carry out research in related concentrations in finance.

Application requirement

• Must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university;
• Must have proof of English proficiency with a satisfactory TOEFL (90 and above) or IELTS (6.5 and above) score, unless you’re a native English speaker;
• Must be a non-Chinese citizen with a valid passport;
• GMAT and GRE scores are not required but are considered in granting admission.

PHBS created a school funded scholarship for international students. The scholarship provides qualified students with outstanding performance with either half-tuition or full-tuition scholarship.
