Conveniently located in Rome's San Paolo district, our Department is easily accessible and near two metro stops. The Department of Political Science offers the possibility of obtaining a complex and interdisciplinary education that provides a solid basic culture and at the same time opens up multiple perspectives in the world of work. Graduates can achieve complex skills and international projection in different professional sectors, thanks to the articulation in disciplinary areas such as politics, social, historical, economic, and legal. The basic preparation proposed by the first level, a three-year degree then opens up the opportunity to continue to the second level of studies: the two-year Master's Degree.

The main objective of the Department's study courses is to give graduates a solid and broad preparation regarding political processes and international relations in their different contexts and dimensions. In the increasingly connected and complex world in which we live and operate, structured training that is not only cultural and multidisciplinary but also practical and targeted, allows you to prepare yourself originally and creatively to face the challenges of the contemporary world. The present and the political, social, and economic interrelations are the terrain of analysis on which most of the teachings are oriented. Historical and legal knowledge, essential tools for interpreting politics and society, contributes to consolidating these foundations.

History and Values

The Roma Tre University is a young university for young people, it was founded in 1992 and has rapidly grown both in terms of students and study courses offered.

In international rankings, it has an excellent rating, especially among younger universities.

A dynamic, modern, and international University that immediately characterized itself as a vital lever for the urban development of the capital, within which it is now well rooted and of which it has changed its face with a persevering process of renovation and reuse of industrial buildings abandoned, transformed into factories of knowledge and research.

Among the founding values of Roma Tre are the promotion and organization of research at an international level, higher education and the development and dissemination of knowledge, the protection of the environment, international solidarity, the principles of gender equality, and the evaluation and incentive of merit.

Teaching and research, in all disciplinary areas, constantly interact and are aimed at a global world, thus promoting the updating and enrichment of knowledge; combine their action with the third mission, understood both as technological transfer and as projection of training activities on the territory.

The international dimension is an aspect considered strategic for the University which adheres, among other things, to the inspiring principles of the Magna Carta Universitatum and declares its belonging to the European Research and Higher Education Area by espousing its principles and tools.

Roma Tre offers various and diversified training programs that allow you to meet the requirements of an increasingly demanding labor market and achieve high levels of professional specialization in an amplified European and international dimension.
