Introduction
The Master of Science in Business Analytics program (MSBA) prepares students with knowledge, tools, and skills to analyze big data, make effective business decisions, improve performance, create shared value, and enable digital transformation from basic to smart organizations. Graduates of the program will learn the various data analytics processes from managing, modeling, analyzing, visualizing, and recommending solutions to challenges in various domains.
Program Objective Areas:
- Data: Identify technological frameworks for collecting, preparing, processing, analyzing, and delivering data.
- Skills: Develop advanced analytical modeling and problem-solving skills to best address challenges in various industries.
- Reporting techniques: Learn reporting techniques with an emphasis on the visual display of big data and analytical results.
- Communications: Learn how to effectively communicate analytical and complex results to different audiences.
- Management skills: Develop core management skills relevant to business analytics projects, including designing, planning, implementing, leading teams, and managing conflicts.

Admissions
Scholarships and Funding
Graduate Fellowship and Assistantship Program (GFAP), up to 100% of tuition
- Partial (up to 50%) or full tuition coverage
- Requires thesis option in the master's programs
- Applications by new students to be submitted in parallel with the admission application
Financial Aid, need-based grant, up to 50% of tuition
- A grant based on the financial need
- Requires a financial aid application in parallel to the admission application
- If awarded, remains valid for the normal period of study as long as student in good academic standing
- Financial need is not a factor in the admission decision
Alumni Scholarship, 10% of tuition
A scholarship percentage awarded to AUB graduates residing in Cyprus or Greece to pursue graduate studies at AUB Mediterraneo.
This scholarship is offered only during the first two years of launching AUB Mediterraneo (academic years 2023-24 and 2024-25)
General scholarship conditions:
- Students meet the application requirements, get admitted and pay the enrollment confirmation fee
- Scholarships are valid for the duration of study as long as the student is in good academic standing
- Scholarships are deducted from the tuition statement after course registration and attendance
AUB in Europe Scholarship 10% or 20% of Tuition
The AUB in Europe Scholarship celebrates the establishment of the American University of Beirut — Mediterraneo as AUB’s first twin campus in Europe.
- Students who are residing in and/or graduating from high schools or universities in, and also nationals of, countries in the EU, EEA, or Switzerland (listed below) will receive a scholarship covering 20 percent of the cost of tuition
- Students who are residing in and/or graduating from high schools or universities in countries in the EU, EEA, or Switzerland (listed above) will receive an AUB in Europe Scholarship covering 10 percent of the cost of tuition:
Curriculum
For the successful completion of the MSBA, students must complete all the components of the program, which carry a total of 90 ECTS over 3 semesters, 30 ECTS each.
The program consists of:
- 6 Core courses (compulsory)
and either: - 3 electives and an Applicative Thesis (called Capstone Project)
or - 2 electives + Research Thesis.

Program Outcome
Upon the successful completion of this program, the graduate will be able to:
- Identify technological frameworks for collecting, preparing, processing, analyzing, and delivering data.
- Recognize the challenges of implementing business analytics solutions, including strategic alignment, planning, project management, team leadership, conflict resolution, negotiation, and convincing techniques.
- Clean and Pre-process data.
- Analyze data with statistical methods and machine learning
- Effectively communicate complex analytical results and insights to a mixed audience.
- Exhibit advanced analytical modeling and problem-solving skills to best address challenges in various industries.
- Exhibit core management skills relevant to business analytics projects, including designing, planning, implementing, leading teams and managing conflicts.
- Apply advanced analytical models and software tools to address various types of business analytics problems.
- Recommend appropriate analytics solutions to business problems, including defining business requirements, relevant data, needed information technology, competitive edge, and value added proposition to the business.
- Build dashboards using various tools and Apply reporting techniques with an emphasis on visual display of big data and analytical results.
