Introduction
Lingnan University’s MA in International Higher Education and Management programme enhances the skills of education administrators
The initiatives that Chief Executive Carrie Lam aims to apply to higher and continuing education – which include a HK$30,000 subsidy to eligible secondary school graduates – will certainly trigger growth in the higher education sector. In places such as the Mainland China, similar policies have resulted in dramatic higher education expansion in the past few decades. In most cases, such changes increase the demand for supporting and administrative staff in higher education-related institutions, as well as high-calibre academic staff and faculty members.
A Programme for Career in the Education Sector
The MA in International Higher Education and Management (IHEM) programme is designed to equip students with theoretical knowledge to investigate issues concerning international higher education, policy and governance, and the management and leadership of contemporary higher education institutions. Students will achieve and practice their management skills to pursue or advance their careers in education-related fields. The programme offers various courses to optimize students’ learning experiences, including seminars, workshops, and international experiential learning. Therefore, IHEM appeals to staff and professionals working in the management or policy-making positions in the higher education sector and other education-related organisations, as well as those who want to lay the foundations for a promising career in the field.
