Introduction
The Master of Science in Health Analytics and Operations Management (HAOM) adopts an eclectic approach to design professionally led courses to train a modern crop of workforce who has the skills to support the increasingly data-driven and digitalised healthcare sector. The HAOM aims at providing current and aspiring health service managers and coordinators with data-driven management knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about healthcare and enhance the efficient management of health service operations. The programme also intends to train students to develop career-driven practical and research skills in health data analytics and operations management through professional and technical knowledge.
Unique Feature
1. Innovative and Interdisciplinarity Curriculum
The HAOM is a unique programme in terms of its interdisciplinarity with courses emanating from the data science, social sciences, health policy, ICT, business and health science fields. Courses such as the HAOM Project will give students opportunities to visit and participate in real-life healthcare projects and enable them to put theory into practice and apply their knowledge to solve real-world problems.
2. Partnership with Local and International Institutions
We have partnerships with various healthcare centres, nursing homes, and non-governmental organisations, and business enterprises. Lingnan University also has partnership with Hong Kong Hospital Authority (Tuen Mun Hospital). These partners will provide students with an exceptionally extensive choice for traineeship and placement. Students can also embark on short term exchange programmes and summer schools with our numerous international partners globally.
3. State-of-the-Art Research and Teaching Facilities
Our Gerontechnology Experiential Laboratory and various upcoming laboratories will support student learning and research. Other facilities such as Data Science Laboratory, Animation and Digital Arts Laboratory, Artificial Intelligence and Education Laboratory, and Chinese medicine clinic will also ensure a truly interdisciplinary learning experience for students.
4. Experienced Teaching Team
HAOM is delivered by a world-class teaching team comprising computer scientists, engineers, big data analysts and statisticians, social scientists, health practitioners, and business scholars with expertise in the analysis and application of data related to health and operations management in health sectors.
