Introduction
What is like?
The Master of Analytics with a major in business equips you with both the technical ability and the competence in critical thinking needed to transform massive amounts of data into information that is useful for crucial business decisions.
Gain globally recognised certification
The Master of Analytics is sponsored by the world’s leading business analytics software provider - SAS. That means that upon completion of this degree you will receive the globally-recognised SAS certification.
SAS business insights also ensure your lecturers are up-to-date with developments in the industry and you will gain access to SAS’ global network of clients. This agreement was the first of its kind with a New Zealand university.
Apply your knowledge to business problems
When you graduate with a Masters in Analytics (Business) you will have gained the skills to understand a business problem and have the skills to use analytics to generate intelligence to provide real business solutions. In this business major, you can choose to apply your new-found knowledge and techniques to either marketing, finance or supply chain management.
You will learn about different data sources available, how data is stored and retrieved, and learn the pivotal skills of data mining and statistical analysis.
Real world-learning
At Massey, we ensure that your learning is firmly based in a real-world business context. We believe that in order to help you identify the most appropriate technique and data to address a problem, you need to understand the real challenges and context which businesses face.
The Master of Analytics will help you understand all these things, as well as give you training in communicating your findings in a compelling way to a business audience.
This learning includes an applied project, where you will use the knowledge you have gained in a commercial organisation.
Sought-after by employers
The skills you will learn in the Master of Analytics meet the growing demand for graduates capable of harvesting, processing, analysing and presenting data in ways that encourage informed and effective organisational decision making. You will learn how to extract useful information from big data while maintaining data security and privacy.
This will open up to you the increasing numbers of roles for people who can combine business skills with data analysis and who have excellent communication skills.
