Considered one of the best private universities in Brazil - it is the only private institution in Minas Gerais to be part of the ranking of the best universities in the world: the Times Higher Education and was elected six times by the Student Guide, published by Editora Abril, as the best of the particular country - and recognized by the Congregation for Catholic Education, the Vatican, as the largest Catholic university in the world, the PUC Minas is home to over 73,000 students in its undergraduate and graduate. The permanent faculty has around 1,700 teachers and 2,900 employees.
There are seven campuses located in the cities of Belo Horizonte, Betim, Contagem, Arcos, Poços de Caldas, Serro and Uberlândia, in addition to three units - Barreiro, Praça da Liberdade and São Gabriel. In undergraduate courses, 105 bachelor's degrees are offered, two of which are taught at a distance, 11 are undergraduate courses, with emphasis on the new offer in distance sciences of religion, and a technological undergraduate course offered in two units.
