Introduction
The American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiologists (AOCA) is a national membership organization that promotes the interests of osteopathic anesthesiologists by improving the quality of training, education, and patient care as it relates to anesthesia and pain management. Osteopathic medicine emphasizes the "whole person" approach to patient care. Osteopathic physicians (DO's) receive extra training in the musculoskeletal system and embrace a philosophy of health rather than simply treating disease.
