Master's Degree Course in Design for Innovation with the Beijing Institute of Fashion and Technology (BIFT) in Beijing / CHINA

The Department of Civil Engineering, Design, Construction, Environment (DICDEA), from the 2015-16 academic year, has activated a new integrated study course with the Beijing Institute of Fashion and Technology (BIFT) in Beijing. The course offers students the opportunity to obtain a double degree, i.e. a double master's degree in Fashion Design. More precisely, the course lasts two years; it includes a training course designed together with the foreign university and a mobility period abroad (1 year and a half); involves the release, at the end of the study period, of two degrees in Fashion Design (double degree), one of which will be valid in Italy and the other in the country of the partner university. Therefore, for students this new course is an opportunity to enrich their curriculum and present themselves in the world of work with a complete and international training profile.

The Beijing Institute of Fashion and Technology (BIFT) in Beijing is among the most important universities in China on fashion, specializing above all in applied technology. BIFT training combines art, technology, economics, management and other disciplines that can interact successfully. Founded in 1959, the institute is affiliated with the Ministry of Textile Industry. In recent years, the institute's motto has been "innovation paves the way for realistic and creative applications in education", a visionary philosophy that combines art and science education, integrates ethnic fashion culture with contemporary design philosophy . The institute, which has 7,000 students and 700 academic staff, is now made up of five schools (School of Clothing, Art and Business, Faculty of Art and Design, School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Business, and School of Design Industrial and Engineering); two departments (Foreign Languages Department and the Plastic Arts Department); two teaching divisions (Division of Social Sciences and Division of Basic Courses); an educational center (Center for Computer Science Teaching); an International College; a Continuing Education school; a Department of Higher Vocational Training and a Doctoral School. There are 20 specializations: Textile science and engineering; Fashion Materials R&D and Evaluation Laboratory; fashion culture and industry research; Clothing Technology transfer; Costume Museum, one of the ten most specialized museums in China.

RECIPIENTS AND GRANTS

All interested students can access the new International Master's Degree Course in Fashion Design activated in partnership with the Beijing Institute of Fashion and Technology (BIFT): those already enrolled in the SUN Department DICDEA Master's Degree Design for Innovation Fashion Ecodesign Curriculum and all other Master's Degree Courses; those from other universities.

For students who are already enrolled in other Degree Courses who decide to move on to the new international Master's Degree Course in partnership with the Beijing Institute of Fashion and Technology (BIFT) in Beijing, personalized procedures for the recognition and validation of the exams already taken will be activated; this in order to avoid that the work already done is lost.

Those who decide to enroll in the International CDL in Design for Innovation Curriculum Fashion Ecodesign in Partnership with the Beijing Institute of Fashion and Technology (BIFT) in Beijing, will be able to apply to take advantage of the scholarships annually allocated by the SUN. Part of these scholarships are reserved for foreign students.
