Student Life at University of Michigan-Flint
Student life is an essential part of the total student experience at the University of Michigan-Flint. At UM-Flint, you can join or create clubs and organizations, find leadership opportunities, unwind with sports and recreation, make new friends, volunteer, and much more.
The Division of Student Affairs leads student life at UM-Flint. The division’s 11 units offer more than 90 student clubs and organizations, recreation and club sports, counseling, veterans and accessible services, residential living and learning, access and opportunity programs, and more. You’ll find caring, inclusive, and welcoming environments across campus.

The Division of Student Affairs at UM-Flint advances the holistic development of well-rounded students through sponsoring educationally-purposed activities, providing co-curricular engagement opportunities, and supporting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive campus of students, scholars, and citizens.

Community & Belonging: We work to build community and help every student at UM-Flint understand that they belong. Further, as a regional, comprehensive urban university, our inclusive community extends beyond the campus boundaries as we work to build community throughout the region.

Through co-curricular and educationally-purposed activities, we prepare students for success both within and outside of the university.

UM-Flint is consistently one of the most affordable four-year public universities in Michigan. With our Freshmen Merit Scholarship program, UM-Flint offers new freshmen awards up to $7,000 a year, with limited full-ride awards available. To help make your Michigan degree even more affordable, we offer a great selection of financial aid packages, including grants, flexible payment plans, campus jobs, and other scholarships.
