MAR-BIO is a research-based Master's program combining competence from different Nordic countries to educate next-generation professionals within the area of blue growth and marine circular economy. AquaH, the International Master of Science in Health Management in Aquaculture,  is a 2-year master's program that studies the interaction between the health of aquaculture species and their environment. The program contributes to the sustainable supply of healthy and tasty seafood by training experts who are able to develop innovative solutions to current and future health and disease problems in the aquaculture industry.

A comprehensive and versatile study programme, Master in Fishery and Protection of Waters explores the biological, ecological, and technological aspects of fisheries and water management as well as the issues related to the protection of the aquatic environment. In addition, the programme also provides insight into various related fields.

This Master's Degree has the overall aim of training professionals to be capable of corresponding to the needs of the Aquaculture industry, contributing to an improvement in sustainable productivity, Health and Welfare in Aquaculture, and to the increase in quality of Food Safety and Public Health.

The master's degree provides students with the knowledge and skills to design and carry out research in aquaculture and give professional answers, design and management of continental and marine facilities, environmental impact assessment and R+D+i needs, for the development of the aquaculture industry. . It is an interuniversity master's degree with the universities of A Coruña and Vigo.

A regular two-year program requires a minimum of 36 credits. The program is shaped into six modules to fulfil the knowledge branch of fisheries. The structure of our program is divided into two plans.

The Master’s examination in Zoology normally consists of a dissertation on an approved topic, a manuscript ready for publication, and two seminar presentations. Alternatively, depending on the nature of the topic, three examination papers and a short dissertation (carrying the weight of an exam paper) may be submitted for the Degree.

The Master in Aquaculture and Fisheries has two specializations: one in Aquaculture and another in Fisheries. In addition to the predominant areas of the Aquaculture and Fisheries Sciences course, other important areas are Environmental Sciences and Biological Sciences.

With this Master's degree, the aim is to acquire advanced, specialized and multidisciplinary training, aimed at knowing the current state of research in the field of aquaculture.
