AquaH, the International Master of Science in Health Management in Aquaculture,  is a 2-year master's program that studies the interaction between the health of aquaculture species and their environment. The program contributes to the sustainable supply of healthy and tasty seafood by training experts who are able to develop innovative solutions to current and future health and disease problems in the aquaculture industry.

A regular two-year program requires a minimum of 36 credits. The program is shaped into six modules to fulfil the knowledge branch of fisheries. The structure of our program is divided into two plans.

The Master’s examination in Zoology normally consists of a dissertation on an approved topic, a manuscript ready for publication, and two seminar presentations. Alternatively, depending on the nature of the topic, three examination papers and a short dissertation (carrying the weight of an exam paper) may be submitted for the Degree.

This joint program combines the expertise of three Belgian universities on aquatic systems. It not only offers you an insight into the complexity of life and processes in marine environments and lakes. But it also comprises management, policy, commercial aspects of aquatic ecosystems, and law. This combination of disciplines makes it a unique program in Europe.

The Master in Science and Technology of Conservation of Fishery Products is designed to train qualified professionals within this industrial field and to allow the sector to equip itself with technologists specialized in the conservation of fisheries and aquaculture products.

Master of Science in Aquaculture is defined as the production of aquatic plants and animals for human consumption. Under the pressure of the increasing world population on the one side and the stagnating or even declining fishery landings on the other side, aquaculture is considered the only option to respond to the growing demand for healthy and sustainable seafood.

Aquaculture accounts for more than half of the fish supply for human consumption whilst angling is the biggest single leisure industry in the UK with a value in excess of £4 billion annually. With the focus on a sustainable secure food supply for the future and a population with more leisure time available, enhanced knowledge and training are required by the industry in these two areas.

A long-range crop The breeding of aquatic species has not stopped growing. It is an activity that generates food, raw materials, and industrial products all over the world, but which in Mexico takes on special importance since it is one of the five countries with the greatest biodiversity on the planet. With more than 5.1 million square kilometers of marine surface alone, our country has a potential based on hundreds of plant and animal species. Thanks to this, the study of organisms from microalgae to fish allows the production of food more efficiently, both for the national market and for export. And because generating knowledge in the field of genetics, molecular biology, virology, among many others, is a permanent need for this sector, higher education institutions assume their role of providing tools to promote and strengthen it. Accordingly, the Master of Science in Aquaculture trains qualified people who, from the academic, governmental, or productive sectors, promote the growth of this sector. The knowledge that is developed in the coming years will be decisive to increase the quality of the food and products that we offer to Mexico and the world.

The Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Aquaculture offer graduate education leading to the Master of Science in Wildlife, Fisheries, and Aquaculture. The Masters of Science degree requires 24 hours of course work, including one graduate course in statistics, a thesis, and a comprehensive oral examination. A Ph.D. degree is offered in Forest Resources with an emphasis on wildlife, fisheries, and aquaculture. The Ph.D. requires a comprehensive written diagnostic examination, one graduate-level statistics course, variable hours of course work (determined by graduate committee), oral and written comprehensive preliminary examinations, a dissertation, and oral defense of the dissertation. The Division of Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences, and the College of Agriculture, Community and the Sciences at Kentucky State University offer a Master of Science Degree in Aquaculture/Aquatic Sciences. Aquaculture is the rearing of aquatic organisms under controlled or semi-controlled conditions. Interest in Aquaculture has increased worldwide as fish consumption has increased concurrently with decreasing catches of wild fish. In Kentucky and the southern United States, aquaculture production focuses on raising freshwater species commercially. The curriculum meets criteria established by the University Programs Standards Committee of the American Fisheries Society for Fish Culture Specializations.
