IMIM is a part-time study program carried out online and in presence modules in Germany, Austria, Spain and the USA. It is aimed at high-potential individuals from the mid-management level of companies and at innovative media entrepreneurs at the interface of development, content, production, distribution, regulation, financing, marketing – all of which represent the value chain of international media. Students should have a minimum of 5 years of practical experience. The interdisciplinary character is at the core of this Master’s program, as it addresses both different fields such as economy and journalism, business and social responsibility, innovation and tradition as well as the normative academic theory and applied knowledge in daily business. IMIM is a cooperative program of Berlin University for Professional Studies (affiliated to Steinbeis) and fjum_forum for journalism and media Vienna. Several scholarships will be granted to participants from media and creative industries in Central Eastern European countries, under consideration of their qualifications, financial situation, and commitment of their employing organizations. Berlin University for Professional Studies is Germany’s first state-approved continuing education university. As a new type of academic university, it combines the highest standards of academic quality in research and teaching with comprehensive service to the student. The university offers Master’s degree courses and certificate programs for working professionals. Its courses of study are aimed at people with a first academic degree who want to continue their education in a distance learning program while working. DUW’s study model and supervision concept are tailored to the needs of these working students. fjum_forum journalism and media Vienna is a non-profit media institution founded in 2011. Fjum offers high-quality training, mainly for mid-career journalists. It works in an international network, trainers are highly regarded professionals from Germany, the UK, the US, Switzerland and many other countries. Fjum attracts journalists, multipliers, students and interested parties from Austria and Europe to join its training, panel discussions, events, and congresses as well as in-house training. It is constantly expanding its network and focus on international cooperations.<<

Master's program in International Media Innovation Management -- IMIM

This program is aimed at high-potentials from the media and creative industries – with different positions in their respective value chains. Please note: APPLICATION PERIOD for its next start in autumn 2015 has ENDED on 1st of July! IMIM students have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in fields such as development, financing, content, journalism and production, distribution, regulation/legislation. During the two-year study, they pool their forces together into a media innovation think tank. With lecturers from leading media companies and universities from all over the world (Poynter Institute, Guardian, New York Times, Die Welt, Universidad Miguel Hernandez and many more) and seminars in Austria, Germany, Spain, the US and online, they work together in an international network.
